Donny Goines – No Apologies ( Prod.By M-Phazes )
In February Donny Goines will team with eccentric clothing designers, Rocksmith Tokyo, to bring you, the fans, his latest offering, a six track deep EP he’s calling 20X. Over the weekend I had a chance to catch up with my old friend, Donny Goines, and I did so not because I was feeling nostalgic, and wanted to take a trip down memory lane, but because I wanted to give him the opportunity to share details of this upcoming project with the hip hop community. If you’re a fan who wants to know more about Donny’s next release, by all means, continue reading.
Us: Lets talk titles for a second, what’s the title of the new album and what made you choose that as the title?
D. Goines: The title of the new album is 20x. I choose to call it that because I feel the new album symbolizes a new beginning for Donny Goines, not just a new year. I also chose to go with the name I did because I feel I’m part of the new generation of rappers that are on the come up. This album is presented by Rocksmith Tokyo and drops in February.
Us: Does the album have a release date?
D. Goines: The EP is being released sometime in February. We don’t have an exact date but it will be out next month for sure.
Us: On Minute After Midnight you held the fort down all by your lonesome, on The Breakfast Club you had a little help from your friends. In terms of features, is this album going to be more Minute After Midnight or more Breakfast Club?
D. Goines: There is only one feature on this project, and it comes courtesy of a very talented singer and songwriter by the name of K-Quick. I designed this project to showcase my artistic abilities. it’s a one man show this time around. Read the rest of this entry »
